FLORIDA BASS GUIDE FISHING REPORT AUGUST 1999

Florida bass fishing during this month of the year has its ups and downs. The very hot weather this year with days in the high 90's has really slowed down the fishing. Our morning sessions of fishing have been good to poor. The evening sessions have at times been better due to the afternoon showers. Small schooling bass are everywhere on the lake. Bluegills are being caught by local fishermen along the canals.



FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: AUGUST 22 & 23, 1999

Howard Schmidt (Issaquah, WA - e-mail: howardas@hotmail.com) and his 81 year old dad Tony (North Port, FL - e-mail: tonyjsc@email.msn.com) caught 6 bass up to 5 1/4 lbs. using shiners during 2 half days (Aug. 22 & 23, 1999) of Florida bass fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Captain Ron. Bass action was very slow due to very hot weather. All fish which were released were caught in the Monkey Box area of Okeechobee.

FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: AUGUST 21 & 22, 1999

Kurt and Kim Harkey (St. Pete., FL - caught 6 bass up to 4 lbs. using shiners during 2 half days (Aug. 21 & 22, 1999) of Florida bass fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Captain Ron. Bass action has been very slow due to very hot weather. All fish which were released were caught in the Monkey Box area of Okeechobee.

John, son Randy and grandson Corwin Bunkley (Merrit Island, FL - ph: 407-452-5348) caught and released 11 bass up to 3 lbs. using shiners during a half day (Aug. 21, 1999) of Florida wild shiner fishing with Captain Ron. All bass were caught on the North Shore of Lake Okeechobee.

FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: AUGUST 14, 1999

Scott Fortson (N. Augusta, SC - e-mail: SMFORT@solutia.com) caught and released 6 bass up to 5 lbs. using shiners during a half day (Aug. 14, 1999) of Florida wild shiner fishing with Captain Ron. All bass were caught on the North Shore of Lake Okeechobee.

FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: AUGUST 13 & 14, 1999

Ed Skiko (Royal Palm Beach, FL - 561-795-1251) caught 7 bass up to 4 lbs. using shiners during 2 half days (Aug. 13 & 14, 1999) of Florida bass fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Captain Ron. Bass action was slow due to very hot weather. All fish which were released were caught in the Monkey Box and North Shore areas of Okeechobee.

FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: AUGUST 11 & 12, 1999

Bill and Sue Mitchener (Rock Hill, SC - ph: 803-366-2339) caught and released 10 bass up to 4 lbs. using shiners during 2 half days (Aug. 11 & 12, 1999) of Florida wild shiner fishing with Captain Ron. Sue caught 8 of the 10 bass boated! Bass were caught on the North Shore of Lake Okeechobee.
