FLORIDA BASS FISHING BRAG'N BOARD REPORT:
APRIL 1999

Florida bass fishing this April has really opened up with some of the fastest bass fishing experienced this year on Okeechobee. Big Florida trophy bass as the below pictures and reports note have really been caught in good numbers by our guide parties. Bass are bedding all over the lake. There are beds with bass on them in just about every open water area on the North Shore. Schooling bass are starting to bust shad in the open water. Seeing lots of bass chasing minnows along the weed edges just about everywhere on the lake. The lowering of the lake water now and throughout the year will greatly improve the bass fishing this year spring and summer. Florida bass fishing 6 1/2 lb trophy bass

Jon and son Kevin Olson (Palmyra, NY - e-mail: Jon.Olson@usa.xerox.com) caught 28 bass up to 6 1/2 lbs during 2 half days (Apr. 22 & 23, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Kevin caught the 6 1/2 lb'er. They fished the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida bass fishing 9 lb trophy bass

Scottie Pittman (Trenton, GA - e-mail: firewatre3@aol.com) and Johnatan Stone (Trenton, GA) caught and released 59 bass up to 9 lbs during 3 days (Apr. 16 -18, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Scottie caught and released the trophy 9 lb'er. Bass where caught in the Monkey Box areas of Lake Okeechobee.

Florida bass fishing 10 1/2 and 9 1/2 lb. trophy bass

Larry Schilling (Lady Lake, FL - ph: 352-753-5328) and Herb Stack (Sun City Center, FL - e-mail: HRSTACK12@aol.com) caught and released 40 bass that included a 10 1/2, 9 1/2 and 6, lb'er during 3 days (Apr. 13 - 15, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Larry caught all the trophy bass. Bass where caught in the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee.

Florida bass fishing 8 lb and 6 1/4 lb trophy bass

Mike Wiswell (Wilmington, OH - ph: 937-342-5421) and Ryan Greene (Wilmington, OH - ph: 937-382-3346) caught and released 50 bass that included a 6 1/4 and 8 lb'er during 3 days (Apr. 9 - 11, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with Captain Ron. Mike caught and released the 6 1/4 and 8 lb'er. This fine catch of bass where caught in the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee. Mike during a 3 day wild shiner fishing trip 2 years ago (April 4 - 6 , 1997) caught a 9 3/4 and 10 1/4 lb'er. His fishing buddy Pete Dodge (Jamestown, OH - ph: 937-675-2893) on that trip also caught a 7 1/4 and 8 3/4 lb'er.

Neal and dad Ed Smith (Colorado Springs, CO - e-mail: GaDeerman@aol.com or Mksnurse@aol.com) caught and released 65 bass up to 8 lbs during 3 days (Apr. 9 - 11, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Neal's dad caught and released the 8 lb'er. Bass where caught in the Monkey Box and Moonshine areas of Lake Okeechobee.

Tom and son Jim Hunt (Marietta, GA - e-mail: thunt012@aol.com) caught and released 92 bass up to 6 lbs during 3 days (Apr. 5 - 7, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. This big catch of bass where caught in the Monkey Box and Moonshine areas of Lake Okeechobee.

Florida bass fishing 9 lb trophy bass

Jerry Calvin (Petersborough, NH - e-mail: JC631@mcs.net) and father-in-law Jack Shaffner (Boynton Beach, FL - ph: 561-731-5197) caught and released 20 bass up to 9 lbs during 1 day (Apr. 5, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Jerry caught the 9 lb'er while his father-in-law caught and released a 6 1/2 lb'er. Bass where caught in the Monkey Box areas of Lake Okeechobee.

Florida bass fishing: 9 3/4 lb.trophy bass

Honeymoon couple Roland and Cody Toupin (Ft. Loramie, OH - ph: 937-295-4209) caught 11 bass up to 9 3/4 lbs during a half day (Apr. 5, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with pro guide Captain Ron. Cody of course caught the 9 3/4 lb'er as well as 8 of the 11 other bass put in the boat. Roland did manage to land a 5 lb'er. Fished the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released except the 9 3/4 lb'er with is being mounted.

Bass where caught in the North Shore, Monkey Box and Moonshine areas of Lake Okeechobee.

Year-Round Special Rate

This Special Rate of only $180.00 is for 1 person and includes: 2 (four hour) half days of shiner bass fishing, 1 night of motel lodging free of charge, 6 dozen shiners free of charge, USCG licensed guide, bass boat, fuel and all tackle.

We require 2 persons on our Special Rate.

Required Deposit for 2 persons is $180.00

Third person 2 half day 1 night rate charge is $100.00 additional and includes 2 (four hour) half days of shiner bass fishing, 1 room for 3 persons for 1 night of motel lodging free of charge, 2 dozen extra shiners free of charge, USCG licensed guide, bass boat, fuel and all tackle.

Required Deposit for 3rd. person is $100.00
