FRESHWATER BASS FISHING BRAG'N BOARD:
NOVEMBER
1999
The
Florida freshwater bass fishing has really turned on with November's
cooler weather. Wild shiner fishing as usual is the way to go
if you are after trophy size bass on Lake Okeechobee. Schooling
bass are busting shad all around the North Shore and Monkey Box
areas of Okeechobee. The wind has really been very bad at times
during most of the month. The wind and fishing however is expected
to get better as the water on the lake cools. Should have some
bass on the beds by the end of the month.
Florida
Freshwater 6 1/2 lb. & 6 lb. Trophy Bass
Gardner and Sue Horton (Knoxville,
TN - ph: 423-966-3029 - e-mail: G-S-Horton@prodigy.net) caught
and released 94 bass that included one 6 1/2 lb., one 6 lb'er
during 3 and the half days (Nov. 24 - 27, 1999) of wild shiner
fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Gardner caught the 6 1/2 lb'er.
Bass were caught in the Hay Field, Moonshine, North Shore and
Monkey Box areas of Lake Okeechobee

6 lb. Trophy Bass
Tim and 11 year old son Carl Polijczuk (Camden, NJ - ph: 856-931-0237)
caught 36 bass up to 6 lbs. during one day (Nov. 23, 1999) of
wild shiner fishing with Ron’s Guide Service. Carl caught
the 6 lb'er. All bass which were released were caught in the North
Shore area of Lake Okeechobee.

Freshwater 6 lb. and 5 lb. Trophy Bass
Brian Reimers
and 12 year old son Kyle (Graham, WA - ph: 253-846-9228 - e-mail: wallframer@aol.com) caught
and released 35 bass up to 6 lbs during one day (Nov. 21, 1999)
of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Brian caught
the 6 lb'er while his son Kyle boated a hefty 5 lb'er. Bass were
caught in the Moonshine area of Lake Okeechobee.
Florida Freshwater 8 lb., 6 1/2 lb. &
6 lb. Trophy Bass
Sam Hoffman
and Lorraine Tomlinson (Frederick, MD - ph: 301-473-5286 - e-mail: TomlinsonL@Medimmune.com - shoffman@cescompute.net)
caught and released 33 bass
that included one 8 lb., one 6 1/2 lb., one 6 lb. and two 5 lb'er
during 3 days (Oct. 31, Nov. 1 & 2, 1999) of wild shiner fishing
with Captain Ron. Lorraine caught the 6 lb'er while Sam caught
the 
8 and
6 1/2 lb'er. Both of Sam's trophy size bass were taken on Lorraine's
rod! Lorraine who caught most of the bass gave Sam her rod which
had on the 8 and 6 lb'er because she felt sorry for him! Bass
were caught in the Monkey Box, North Shore and Moonshine areas
of Lake Okeechobee.
