Caught and released by Carol Garland as
her husband Mike yelled "o well" when the trophy bass
of his dreams was landed by his wife. Mike who has landed his
share of Florida bass (two 7 lb'ers, a 6 and a 6 1/2 lb'er) during the five years he has been bass
fishing with me on Okeechobee did (on this trip) hook and land
a "huge" bass right behind his wife's trophy catch that
"only weighed in at 6 3/4 lbs". Mike and Carol who own
and operate greenhouses (Jonesboro, TN - Farm Direct Greenhouse
- Bus. ph: 423-753-8383 - home ph: 423-753-2362) landed a total
of 63 Okeechobee bass in the three days they fished. All the bass
were caught using shiners and all were released. Captain Ron was
their bass fishing guide.

Although only 23 bass were landed during 3 days of "very
slow" Okeechobee bass fishing (due to a cold front) Connie
did besides landing a 10 lb'er also caught a nice 6 1/2 lb. bass. His fishing buddy Tim Judd (Holyoke, MA
- home ph: 413-532-9746) also landed a 6 1/2 lb. bass. All bass
were caught using shiners and all (including the 10 lb'er) were

- home ph: 516-621 -8753). Jose also caught and released a 7 3/4
lb. and a 7 lb. bass in addition to 59 other Okeechobee bass in the 2-5 lb. range. Luis Figueiredo (Ayr,
Ont. Canada - home ph: 519-632-7403) who also fished 3 days with
Jose had a big bass on that got away. All bass were caught using
shiners and released. Captain Ron was their bass fishing guide.

caught by Barbara Turkus (Fords, NJ - ph:
732-738-7613). Barbara also landed a 6 3/4 lb'er during this trip
(her third) and has a 6 and a 6 1/2 lb'er mounted from two previous
Lake Okeechobee trips. Her husband Tom (a New Jersey policeman)
who has been out fished by his wife finally hooked and landed
a 7 lb'er on this trip. All the fish (approx. 56 bass)
were caught using shiners and were released except the two 7 lb'ers.

this "lunker" Lake Okeechobee trophy bass while his
fishing buddy Ray Fellows (Mecca, IN - home phone: 317-569-7032)
caught and released a 7 1/2 lb. bass. Mike Lear (home ph: 317-569-6208)
and Eric Eslinger (home ph: 317-569-3750) both from (Rockville,
IN) also helped catch a good share of the 80 Okeechobee bass
that were caught using wild shiners during the 3 days they

lb. Lake Okeechobee Trophy Bass
Caught by Steve Uhe - (Spencer, IA - home
phone: 712-264-3014). Steve had this lunker mounted out of the
numerous Okeechobee bass caught by him and his fishing buddy Keith
Conrad (koconr@monsanto.com) and 5 other fishermen from the American
Cyanamid Co. who were also guided for 2 days by 2 additional professional
Florida fishing guides. All bass caught were released except the
9 1/2 lb'er. Arden Kinnander (Armstrong, IA - home phone: 712-864-3476)
who unfortunately couldn't make the trip however did arrange this
successful Lake Okeechobee bass fishing trip. All bass were caught
using shiners. Captain Ron was Steve and Keith's fishing guide.

1/4 lb. Okeechobee Trophy Bass

717-365-1706). Anthony and his wife on his "first" 3
day Lake Okeechobee fishing trip with us also caught a 6 1/2 lb'er and
54 other bass from 2-5 lbs.
On his "second" 3 day fishing trip he caught "three
7 lb. bass" while his fishing buddy Frank Schury (Ozone Park,
NY - home ph: 718-848 -2479) caught "two 7 3/4 lb'ers and
a 7 lb. bass". All bass were caught using shiners and were
released except the 9 lb. lunker and one 7 3/4 lb'er. Captain

We provide artificial lures on a you replace it if you loose it
basis. We do not provide plastic worms. You can bring your own
plastic worms or purchased them down here. Plastic worms 4 1/2
- 7 inch Fluke, Assassin or Yamamoto style worms as well as Zoom
Finesse Worm or Trick Worm in Red-Shad, June-Bug, Watermelon,
Black/Red Glitter or Black/Blue Glitter colors and a host of others
are popular on Lake Okeechobee throughout the year.

days range in the 80's - 90's. Rainfall during the winter, early
spring and late fall is slight. Brief afternoon showers are common
in late spring, throughout the summer and early fall. Guides fish

or shine and under all weather conditions". Rain gear is a must bring item. If you
are fishing during the winter months, be sure to bring some warm
clothing with you -- it can get
quite
cold at times.
