There is no finer thrill to experience then
the expression on a youngster's face when they hook and land a
Florida bass. These kids have a way of going over all of the details
of how they caught that Florida bass that really makes it very
exciting to listen to. They somehow always seem to make the bass
a pound or more bigger each time they tell the story. In any event
there is no other lasting memory a father and son could ever experience
together that will always be talked about over the years during

5 1/2 lb'erLake Okeechobee bass fishing anglers Kevin Roath and his 10 year-old son Kevin Jr. (Metamora, MI - ph: 810-678-2837) caught 10 bass up to 5 1/2 lbs during 2 half days of wild shiner fishing with Captain Ron. Kevin Jr. caught the 5 1/2 lb'er. They also caught a mudfish in the 8 lb. range, pickerel and a cat fish. All fish were released. Bass were caught in the Horse Island area of Lake Okeechobee.

Lake Okeechobee bass fishing
anglers Rocco and his 16 year-old son Kyle Gabriele (Baltimore,
MD - ph: 410-732-2426 - e-mail: Engine280@aol.com) caught 20 bass up to 8 1/4 lbs during 2
days of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. This father
and son team due to poor fishing conditions caught nothing on
their first day (October 26, 2002) with one of Capt'n Ron's guides.
On their second day (October 27, 2002) with Captain Ron they caught
the 20 bass up to 8 1/4 lbs. They boated 10 bass in the morning
session of fishing and 10 in the afternoon session with the 8
1/4 lb'er being caught that afternoon at 5:00 p.m.. Kyle caught
the 8 1/4 lb'er and his dad's biggest out of the 20 bass they
boated was a 4 1/4 and a 4 lb'er. All fish were released except
the 8 1/4 lb'er which Kyle is having mounted. Bass were caught
in the Horse Island area of Lake Okeechobee.

anglers Denny and his son Matty Mullins (Totz, KY - ph: 606-573-9354)
caught bluegills, shellcrackers
and bass up to 5 lbs during 2 half days of fishing with Captain
Ron on June 23 & 24, 2002. Matty caught the 5 lb'er and some
nice sized bluegills and shellcrackers. All fish were released.
Bass, bluegills and shellcrackers were caught in Harney Pond Canal
and the North Shore area of Lake Okeechobee.

anglers Scott Courier and his 12 year-old son Chris (Coconut Creek,
FL, - ph: 954-970-3882 - e-mail: rsc2@mindspring.com) caught and released about 20 bass that included
a 7 lb'er (left) and 6 lb'er during 2 days of wild shiner fishing
with Captain Ron and Cap'n Bob on April 5 - 7, 2002. Chris caught
the 7 lb'er with Captain Ron and the 6 lb'er with Cap'n Bob..
Bass were caught in the North Shore area of Lake Okeechobee.

anglers Dave McGlaughlin and his 12 year-old son Dave Jr.(Fenton,
MI, - ph: 810-750-7898) caught
and released 14 bass that included a 5 1/2 lb'er during a day
of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service on April 2, 2002.
Dave Jr. caught the 5 1/2 lb'er. Bass were caught drifting shiners
in the North Shore area of Lake Okeechobee.

son Chris (Stanton, MI - ph: 989-831-8791 - e-mail:
gator@pathwaynet.com) caught
and released 14 bass that included a 7 lb. and 5 lb. bass during
2 half days of wild shiner fishing with Captain Ron on March 28
& 29, 2002. Chris caught a nice 5 lb'er while his dad landed
a trophy 7 lb'er. Bass were caught in the North Shore area of
Lake Okeechobee.
