RON'S GUIDE SERVICE is located in the small country town of
Lakeport. This remote fishing and hunting village is located on
the southwest side of Lake Okeechobee. Our fishing and hunting
guide service operates out of "Beck's Food, Tackle &
Marathon Gas Station Store". Beck's as it is known locally
is located on the south side of highway 78 in the town of Lakeport.
The Seminole Brighton Indian Reservation highway junction (721)
that ends on highway 78 and which is directly across from Beck's
is a landmark that is very easy to locate. The below picture which
shows the locality and what Beck's store looks like will make
finding (our meeting place) at Beck's very easy.Please note there is no business sign on the store that says Beck's Food & Tackle. Look for the Marathon Gas Station sign.
Beck's store and Marathon gas station is the building with the blue roof in the foreground. The Harney Pond canal on the right side of the photo is where we ramp in to gain access to the Lake Okeechobee which can be seen in the background of the photo. The road in the photo that go's from the left side to the right side is highway 78. You would be traveling from Moore Haven coming from the right side of the photo to Beck's store. If you were coming from the left side of the photo to Beck's store you would be traveling from the city of Okeechobee. The road on the bottom right side of the photo that ends on highway 78 is 721. This road runs from highway 78 north 18 miles to route 70 where it ends.
