FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORTS
FEBRUARY 1999

Florida bass fishing on Lake Okeechobee during the month of February is considered to be a prime month for Florida trophy bass fishing. Okeechobee's bass are bedding in large numbers during this time of the year. Fishing a large Florida wild shiner in a bedding area will usually produce some awesome heart pounding action.

FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: FEBRUARY 27 & 28, 1999

Jerry and Grant Adkins (Valrico, FL - e-mail: jadkins949@aol.com) and Steve Edwards (Valrico, FL) caught and released about 20 bass up to 4 lbs using shiners during 2 half days (Feb. 27 and 28, 1999) of fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Ron's Guide Service. All the bass which were released were caught in the Monkey Box and Hay Fields area of Okeechobee.

FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: FEBRUARY 25 & 26, 1999

Stuart and son JR Stephens (Falmount, KY - ph: 606-654-3225) caught and released about 20 bass that included a 7 1/2 and a 8 1/2 lb'er using shiners during 2 half days (Feb. 25 and 26, 1999) of fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Ron's Guide Service. All the bass which were released were caught in the Moonshine and North Shore areas of Okeechobee.

FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: FEBRUARY 20 & 21, 1999

Dan Oxenford (Jackson, GA - e-mail: DJOXEN284@aol.com), Dan Oxenford Jr. (Griffin, GA), John Oxenford (Jackson, GA7) and Glenn Oxenford (Jackson, GA) caught and released about 60 bass up to 4 lbs using shiners during 2 half days (Feb. 20 & 21, 1999) of fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Ron's Guide Service. All the bass which were released were caught in the Monkey Box and Hay Fields area of Okeechobee.

FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: FEBRUARY 16 - 19, 1999

Chad Miller (Elizabethton, TN - ph: 423-543-3132/542-5138) and Dave Mcintosh (Elizabethton, TN - ph: 423-542-5138) caught and released 50 bass up to 5 lbs using shiners during 3 days (Feb. 16 - 19, 1999) of fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Ron's Guide Service. All the bass which were released were caught out of the North Shore area of Okeechobee.

FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: FEBRUARY 16 - 18, 1999

Mark and his dad Ken Kinser (Louisville, KY - Mark's ph: 502-367-6673 - Ken's ph: 502-937-9349) caught and released about 35 bass up to 5 lbs using shiners during 3 days (Feb. 16 - 18, 1999) of fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Captain Ron. All the bass which were released were caught in the Monkey Box and Moonshine areas of Okeechobee.

FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: FEBRUARY 14 & 15, 1999

NCC (AW) Royal Parker (Norfolk, VA - ship ph: 757-444-2601/445-6252) who is the Recreation Coordinator for the USS SHREVEPORT (LPD-12) arranged a 2 day (5 guide boats) memorable Lake Okeechobee bass fishing trip for 30 crew members of the USS Shreveport while it was in port (February 14 & 15, 1999). A total of approximately 200 bass up to 6 lbs were caught on wild shiners during the 2 days of fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Ron's Guide Service.

FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: FEBRUARY 12 & 13, 1999

Dave Nelson (Mukwonago, WI - e-mail: dnelson@qualcomm.com) caught and released about 25 bass up to 7 1/2 lbs. using wild shiners and spinnerbait artificial lures during 2 half days (Feb. 12 & 13, 1999) of fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Ron's Guide Service. All the bass which were released were caught in the Hay Fields area of Okeechobee.

Craig Straight (Marietta, GA - e-mail: cjstraight@webtv.net) and Don Tooms (Acworth, GA) caught and released about 40 bass up to 5 lbs using shiners during 3 days (Feb. 9 - 11, 1999) of fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Ron's Guide Service. All the bass which were released were caught in the Monkey Box and Hay Fields area of Okeechobee.

Idan Sims (New York, NY - e-mail: RASNY@aol.com) caught and released about 20 bass up to 6 lbs using shiners during 2 half days (Feb. 8 & 9, 1999) of fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Ron's Guide Service. All the bass which were released were caught in the Moonshine area of Okeechobee.

FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: FEBRUARY 5 - 7, 1999

Brian Tydd (Batavia, IL - ph: 630-879-1303) and cousin Ray Kerr (Urbana, IL - ph: 217-3834-6438) caught and released 50 bass up to 5 lbs using shiners during 3 days (Feb. 5 - 7, 1999) of fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Ron's Guide Service. All the bass which were released were caught out of the North Shore area of Lake Okeechobee.

FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT: FEBRUARY 1 - 3, 1999

Stan Myers (New Castle, VA - ph: 540-864-5952) Eddie Wright and Richard Vass (New Castle, VA - ph: 540-864-5668) caught and released 106 bass up to 4 lbs using shiners during 3 days (Feb. 1 - 3, 1999) of fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Ron's Guide Service. All the bass which were released were caught out of the North Shore and Moonshine areas of Lake Okeechobee.

This Special Rate of only $180.00 is for 1 person and includes: 2 (four hour) half days of shiner bass fishing, 1 night of motel lodging free of charge, 6 dozen shiners free of charge, USCG licensed guide, bass boat, fuel and all tackle.

We require 2 persons on our Special Rate.

Required Deposit for 2 persons is $180.00

Third person 2 half day 1 night rate charge is $100.00 additional and includes 2 (four hour) half days of shiner bass fishing, 1 room for 3 persons for 1 night of motel lodging free of charge, 2 dozen extra shiners free of charge, USCG licensed guide, bass boat, fuel and all tackle.
