Florida bass fishing on
Lake Okeechobee during the month of February is considered to
be a prime month for Florida trophy bass fishing. Okeechobee's
bass are bedding in large numbers during this time of the year.
Fishing a large Florida wild shiner in a bedding area will usually
produce some awesome heart pounding action.

in the Moonshine and North Shore areas of Okeechobee.

of Okeechobee.

All the bass which were released were caught out of the North
Shore area of Okeechobee.

is the Recreation Coordinator for the USS SHREVEPORT (LPD-12)
arranged a 2 day (5 guide boats) memorable Lake Okeechobee bass
fishing trip for 30 crew members of the USS Shreveport while it
was in port (February 14 & 15, 1999). A total of approximately
200
bass up to 6 lbs
were caught on wild shiners during the 2 days of fishing on Lake
Okeechobee with Ron's Guide Service.
