LAKE OKEECHOBEE BASS FISHING REPORTS
1998


Lake Okeechobee women anglers bass fishing reports and pictures from the calendar year 1998. This Florida freshwater lake over the 22 years I have operated a trophy bass fishing guide service on has produced on a person to person (male to female) ratio "more trophy bass to women anglers" It seems the girls are able to put more Okeechobee trophy bass in the boat far more offen then the experienced men anglers!

Florida Bass Fishing 7 1/4 & 6 1/2 lb. Florida Trophy Bass
November 26, 27, 1998

These Florida bass were caught by Judy Sivula (Blaine, MN). Judy's fishing buddy Doug Headquist (mound, MN - e-mail: rmenard1@isd.net) also caught a 6 1/2 lb. bass. This couple caught a total of 23 bass during 2 half days (Nov. 26, 27, 1998) of wild shiner fishing with Ron’s Guide Service. All bass were caught on the North Shore of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Bass Fishing 6 1/2 lb. Florida Trophy Bass
November 3, 4, 1998

This Florida bass was caught by Aleci Siegle (Runnermede, NJ - ph: 609-939-4270). Aleci and husband Werner caught 24 bass which included two 6 1/2 lb’ers during 2 half day sessions (Nov. 3, 4, 1998) of wild shiner fishing with Ron’s Guide Service. Werner and his wife each caught a 6 1/2 lb. bass. Both of these 6 1/2 lb’ers hit only seconds apart and were in fact on the line at the very same time! All bass were caught on the North Shore area of Lake Okeechobee. All the bass were live released.

Florida Bass Fishing 7 lb. Florida Trophy Bass
October 5 - 7, 1998

This beauty was caught by Judy Harris (Whitwell, TN - ph: 423-825-6615). Judy caught the 7 lb’er on their first day of fishing. Her husband Larry caught a 6 lb’er on the second day. They caught a total of 88 bass during 3 days (Oct. 5 - 7, 1998) of wild shiner fishing with Ron’s Guide Service. This couple also had 14 other bass that ran in the 5 lb. + range. This fine catch of bass came out of the North Shore area of Okeechobee. All bass were released except the 7 lb’er which is being mounted.

Florida Bass Fishing 6 1/4 lb. Florida Trophy Bass
July 26, 1998

Florida bass fishing couple Kyle & Cassie Cure (Manhattan, KS - ph: 785-494-2571) caught 8 bass up to 6 1/4 lbs during a half day (July 26, 1998) of wild shiner fishing with Ron’s Guide Service. Cassie caught and released the 6 1/4 lb’er. Bass were caught in the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee.

Florida Bass Fishing 6 1/4 lb. Florida Trophy Bass
February 26 - 28, 1998

Darryl and wife Anita Bowers (Mobile, AL - e-mail: ABo3224273@aol.com) caught and released 25 bass up to 6 1/4 lbs. while shiner fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Captain Ron (Ron's Guide Service). Anita caught the 6 1/4 lb'er. and a huge catfish that would of weighed at least 20 lbs! All fish were released.

Florida Bass Fishing 10 lb. Florida Trophy Bass
February 10 - 12, 1998

This monster bass was caught by Charlene Boston (Louisville, KY - home ph: 502-267-8760). This lunker Florida trophy bass which was released fell for a wild shiner. Charlene's husband Garland was in fact just as excited as his wife when she put this Lake Okeechobee beauty in the boat. This couple who fished 3 days with us (February 10 - 12, 1998) caught and released approximately 40 other bass.

Florida Bass Fishing 6 lb. Florida Trophy Bass
January 22, 1998

Florida bass fishing couple Gator and wife Vickie Allen (N. Augusta, SC - e-mail: Gallen1342@aol.com) caught and released 6 bass up to 6 lbs. during one day of Florida bass fishing (Jan. 22, 1998). Vickie caught the 6 lb'er late in the evening session of fishing. We had poor fishing due to heavy winds which limited access to fishing areas. Had 2 big fish "blow ups" that we were unable to hook into.

This Special Rate of only $180.00 is for 1 person and includes: 2 (four hour) half days of shiner bass fishing, 1 night of motel lodging free of charge, 6 dozen shiners free of charge, USCG licensed guide, bass boat, fuel and all tackle.

We require 2 persons on our Special Rate.

Required Deposit for 2 persons is $180.00

Third person 2 half day 1 night rate charge is $100.00 additional and includes 2 (four hour) half days of shiner bass fishing, 1 room for 3 persons for 1 night of motel lodging free of charge, 2 dozen extra shiners free of charge, USCG licensed guide, bass boat, fuel and all tackle.

Required Deposit for 3rd. person is $100.00
