LAKE OKEECHOBEE BASS FISHING REPORTS
1999


Lake Okeechobee women anglers bass fishing reports and pictures from the calendar year of 1999. This Florida freshwater lake over the 22 years I have operated a trophy bass fishing guide service on has produced on a person to person (male to female) ratio "more trophy bass to women anglers" It seems the girls are able to put more Okeechobee trophy bass in the boat far more offen then the experienced men anglers!

Florida Bass Fishing 6 1/2 lb. Florida Trophy Bass
November 24 - 27, 1999

Sue Horton (Knoxville, TN - e-mail: G-S-Horton@prodigy.net) caught this nice 6 1/2 lb. Florida bass. Her hubby Gardener also landed a 6 lb. Florida bass. They caught and released 94 bass during the 3 and the half days (Nov. 24 - 27, 1999) they wild shiner fished with Ron's Guide Service. Bass were caught in the Hay Field, Moonshine, North Shore and Monkey Box areas of Lake Okeechobee

Florida Bass Fishing 6 1/2 lb. Florida Trophy Bass
October 31, November 1 & 2, 1999

Lorraine Tomlinson (Frederick, MD - e-mail: TomlinsonL@Medimmune.com - shoffman@cescompute.net) caught this really nice 6 1/2 lb. Florida bass. Lorraine's husband Sam also landed a 6 lb. and 8 lb. Florida trophy bass. They caught and released 33 bass during the 3 days (Oct. 31, Nov. 1 & 2, 1999) they wild shiner fished with Captain Ron. Both of Sam's trophy size bass were taken on Lorraine's rod! Lorraine who caught most of the bass gave Sam her rod which had on the 6 and 8 lb'er because she felt sorry for him! Bass were caught in the Monkey Box, North Shore and Moonshine areas of Lake Okeechobee.

Florida Bass Fishing 8 1/2 lb. Florida Trophy Bass
October 18 - 22, 1999

Molly McGirr (Lockport, NY - e-mail: mmcgirr@localnet.com) and husband Bruce who arrived just after hurricane Irene moved off of Lake Okeechobee and left the area did manage to catch and released about 75 bass that included two 5 lb., two 5 1/2 lb., one 7 lb., one 8 1/2 lb. and one 8 3/4 lb'er during 5 days (Oct. 18 - 22, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Even though hurricane Irene tore up the lake and churned up the water real bad Molly caught the 8 1/2 lb'er while bruce landed the 7 and 8 3/4 lb'er. Bass were caught in the Monkey Box, North Shore and Moonshine areas of Lake Okeechobee.

Florida Bass Fishing 6 lb. Florida Trophy Bass
June 13 - 15, 1999
Fred and Diane Hazelwood (Mechanicsville, VA - e-mail: Diane_Hazelwood@Ethyl.com) caught about 40 bass up to 6 lbs. using shiners during the 3 days (June 13 - 15, 1999) they fished with Captain Ron. Diane caught the 6 lb'er and another one that went 5 lbs. Fred caught a 5 1/4 and 5 1/2 lb'er. All fish were which were released were caught in the Monkey Box and Fisheating Bay areas of Lake Okeechobee.

Florida Bass Fishing 9 3/4 lb. Florida Trophy Bass
April 5, 1999

Honeymoon couple Roland and Cody Toupin (Ft. Loramie, OH - ph: 937-295-4209) caught 11 bass up to 9 3/4 lbs during a half day (Apr. 5, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with pro guide Captain Ron. Cody of course caught the 9 3/4 lb'er as well as 8 of the 11 other bass put in the boat. Roland did manage to land a 5 lb'er. Fished the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released except the 9 3/4 lb'er which is being mounted.

Florida Bass Fishing 6 lb. Florida Trophy Bass
January 11 & 12, 1999

Charlotte Kemmler and Charlie Miller (Louisville, KY - ph: 502-893-8648) caught 15 bass up to 6 lbs. during two half days (Jan. 11 & 12, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with Ron’s Guide Service. Charlotte of course caught the 6 lb'er. Fish were caught and released on the North Shore of Okeechobee.

Year-Round Special Rate

This Special Rate of only $180.00 is for 1 person and includes: 2 (four hour) half days of shiner bass fishing, 1 night of motel lodging free of charge, 6 dozen shiners free of charge, USCG licensed guide, bass boat, fuel and all tackle.

We require 2 persons on our Special Rate.

Required Deposit for 2 persons is $180.00

Third person 2 half day 1 night rate charge is $100.00 additional and includes 2 (four hour) half days of shiner bass fishing, 1 room for 3 persons for 1 night of motel lodging free of charge, 2 dozen extra shiners free of charge, USCG licensed guide, bass boat, fuel and all tackle.

Required Deposit for 3rd. person is $100.00
