The spawn usually starts
off around Thanksgiving during the month of November. Our evening
temperatures in the 50's and shorter days are the prime elements
that trigger this event. The cooler water during this month will
have the male bass staking out bedding territories. The movement
of Okeechobee's trophy size bass to pre-spawn holding areas also
gets under way with these changes.
