This Florida bass fishing couple Phil and Loni
Janik (Torrington, CT - ph: 860-482-1547 - e-mail:
pjanik@javanet.com) caught and released 12 bass up to 4 1/4 lbs
on wild shiners during 2 half days (Sept. 7 & 8, 2000) of
Florida bass fishing with Cap'n Ron. Phil caught the 4 1/4 lb.
Florida bass. His wife Loni also caught and released a nice 3
1/2 lb. bass.
This
3 foot alligator which tried to eat our float and hooked it self
in the tail was the only trophy this father and son team boated
and released unharmed.

Chuck Etheridge (Taegu, Korea - ph: 011-82534734777 - e-mail: EtheridgeC@usfk.korea.army.mil) caught
117 Florida bass up to 5 lbs during 3 days (Aug. 2-4, 2000)
of Florida wild shiner bass fishing with Cap'n Ron. Mr. Chi caught
the 5 lb. Florida bass and had a larger one throw the hook just
as it was being netted. Chuck and his father-in-law on their last
morning (Aug. 5, 2000) with me also bagged 2 wild boar hogs. We
Florida bass fished in the Harney Pond Canal and Fisheating Creek
areas of Lake Okeechobee. They released all (116) Florida bass
and kept the 5 lb'er for mounting.
This
Cormorant which was hooked and released unharmed while it was
diving and searching for a meal caught and ate one of our wild
shiner baited lines. It put up a good fight and had us believing
we had a trophy bass on the line until it surfaced!
Florida bass fishing dad Ken McAlister and
15 year-old son Andrew (Andover, KS - ph: 316-218-0340 - e-mail:
mcalisterkg@veracom.net) caught 34 Florida bass that included
a 6 1/2 lb., 5 1/2 lb. and 5 1/4 lb. bass during 2 half days (Jul.
25 & 26, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Captain Ron. Andews
dad caught the 6 1/2 lb. bass during the same time Andrew was
fighting the 5 1/2 lb'er. Andrew also caught the 5 1/4 lb. bass.
We fished the Harney Pond Canal cuts of Lake Okeechobee. All bass
were released.
