FLORIDA BASS FISHING REPORT
SEPTEMBER 1999
The month of September has come in with hot days, heavy rain showers and cooler mornings and evenings. These changes have helped the Florida bass fishing to a certain degree. Schooling bass are chasing shad in the open areas of lake Okeechobee.

Chuck Tudor (Homestead, FL - ph: 305-247-9846) caught 22 bass up to 9 lbs. during 2 half days (Sept. 28 & 29, 1999) of Florida wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Bass, all of which except the 9 lb'er were released, were taken on the North Shore of Okeechobee.

Milton Henry and his son (Durham, NC - e-mail: milton.henry@mindspring.com) caught and released 35 bass up to 5 3/4 lbs. during 2 half days (Sept. 20 & 21, 1999) of Florida wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. These guys came during tropical storm Harvey and fished in the heavy wind and rain conditions it produced. The storm conditions really turned the bass on. Bass were taken in the secluded cuts along Okeechobee's Harney Pond Canal.

Jeff Schadle and wife (Vinton, IA - ph: 319-472-5395) caught only 5 bass up to 6 1/2 lbs. during 2 half days (Sept. 6 & 7, 1999) of Florida wild shiner fishing with Captain Ron. The poor fishing Jeff experienced we figure was due to heavy evening showers and very hot days. The 6 1/2 lb'er however made Jeff's day. A fish of this size is a trophy in the state of Iowa! Bass were taken on Okeechobee's North Shore in the open pockets scattered throughout the open water weed beds. All the bass were released.

Larry Bridges and his son Larry (Delray, FL - e-mail: penny@juno.com) caught and released 11 bass up to 6 3/4 lbs. during 2 half days (Sept. 3 & 4, 1999) of Florida wild shiner fishing with Captain Ron. Larry sr. caught the 6 3/4 lb'er. Bass were taken on the North Shore of Okeechobee.

Year-Round Special Rate

This Special Rate of only $180.00 is for 1 person and includes: 2 (four hour) half days of shiner bass fishing, 1 night of motel lodging free of charge, 6 dozen shiners free of charge, USCG licensed guide, bass boat, fuel and all tackle.

We require 2 persons on our Special Rate.

Required Deposit for 2 persons is $180.00

Third person 2 half day 1 night rate charge is $100.00 additional and includes 2 (four hour) half days of shiner bass fishing, 1 room for 3 persons for 1 night of motel lodging free of charge, 2 dozen extra shiners free of charge, USCG licensed guide, bass boat, fuel and all tackle.

Required Deposit for 3rd. person is $100.00
