FLORIDA BASS FISHING REFERENCES
FROM: Florida wild shiner bass fishing anglers Tommy Wood (Monticello, AR - ph: 870-367-9000), Bobby Gulledge (Monticello, AR) and Jim Parker (Monticello, AR - ph: 870-367-2178) caught and released about 48 bass that included a 8 3/4 lb. and two 7 lb'ers during 3 days (April 2 - 4, 2001) of wild shiner bass fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Jim caught the 8 3/4 lb. trophy bass and a 7 lb'er. Bob also caught a 7 lb'er. They fished the Harney Pond canal and the Point of the Reef areas of Lake Okeechobee. All trophy bass were caught in the Harney Pond canal.
Tyson Lee (Tuscumbia, AL - ph: 256-314-6346), Clayton Brown (Little Rock, AR - ph: 501-661-9843) and David Dollar (Hector, AR - ph: 501-284-5021) caught and released 61 bass that included a 7 1/4, a 6 1/2, a 5 1/2 and a 5 lb'er during 3 days (Apr. 30 - May 2, 1999) of Florida wild shiner fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Ron's Guide Service. Tyson caught the 7 1/4 lb'er. Clayton caught the 6 1/2 lb'er and David caught the 5 and 5 1/2 lb'ers. Bass where caught in the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee.
Sterling Anders and son Shep (Fayetteville, AR - ph: 501-442-6779 - e-mail: sanders@absc.com) caught 16 bass up to 5 lbs. using shiners during the 1 day (May 9, 1998) they fished with Captain Ron (Ron's Guide Service). All the bass were released. All fish were caught in the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee.
