Florida bass fishing references
from the state of California. I have put together a Lake Okeechobee
bass fishing report of trophy bass caught using shiners by California
residents. Their name, address,
home phone number and e-mail address (if they have one) are also included
so as to verify the contents and afford prospective clientele
the opportunity to get first hand information from folks who have
fished with our guide service.
Bass fishing anglers Dwight and Rubie Rice (Lindsay,
CA - ph: 559-562-0046 - e-mail: wvtravel@bigfoot.com) caught and
released 81
bass up to 3 lbs during 2 half days of shiner
and artificial plastic worm fishing with Cap'n Ron on the afternoon
of June 13th. and the morning of June 14th., 2003. Bass were caught
mostly on plastic worm in the North Shore area of Lake Okeechobee.

Lake Okeechobee
bass fishing anglers Tom Gee (Sunnydale, CA - ph: 408-245-4517
- e-mail: tomgee@yahoo.com) and
Jerry Kennedy (Alberguque, NM - ph: 505-259-9181) caught about 10 bass up to 3 lbs during
2 half days of fishing with Captain Ron on June 22 & 23, 2002.
All bass were released. Bass were caught in Harney Pond Canal
and the North Shore area of Lake Okeechobee.
Curtis and Elleanor
Jenkins (Fullerton, CA - ph: 714-529-6369 - e-mail:
bbobdylon@aol.com) caught and
released 41 bass up to 5 lbs during 2 days (Mar. 16 and 17, 1999)
of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Bass where caught
in the Monkey Box and North shore areas of Lake Okeechobee.
John DeAgro (Weston, FL - ph: 954-385-5989 - e-mail: jedeagro@aol.com)
and son John DeAgro (San Clemente, CA - ph: 949-361-9212 - e-mail:
john_a_deagro@notes.seagate.com) ) caught 16 bass up to 7 1/2
lbs. during 2 half day sessions (Oct. 23 and 24, 1998) of
wild shiner fishing with Rons Guide Service. John jr., on
their first session of fishing with Capn Ron caught a 5,
6 and 7 1/2 lb. bass while his dad using light gear managed
put one in the boat that went over 4 lbs. They also caught 4 other
bass up to 3 lbs. for a total of 8 fish. During their second session
they put another 8 bass up to 4 lbs. in the boat. All 16 bass
were caught in the Monkey Box of Lake Okeechobee. All the bass
except the 7 1/2 lber were live released.
Chad and Bret Hill (Pleasant Hill,
CA - 510-932-9673 - e-mail: hillcomm@earthlink.net) caught 32 bass up to 5 lbs. during 2 half
days of wild shiner fishing with Rons Guide Service. This
catch of bass came out of the North Shore area of Okeechobee.
All bass were released.
