Florida bass fishing references
from Canada. I have put together a Florida bass fishing report
with pictures of trophy bass caught using shiners by Canadian
residents. Their name, address,
home phone number and e-mail address (if they have one) are also included
so as to verify the contents and afford prospective clientele
the opportunity to get first hand information from folks who have
fished with our guide service.

25, 26 & 27, 2002
Lake Okeechobee
bass fishing anglers Dr. Howard Goodman (Toronto, Ont. - ph: 416-781-5282

ilaura@idirect.com) and Johnathan Mursic (Bowmanville, Ont. -
ph: 905-262-4960) caught and
released about 20 bass that included a 7 lb., 6 lb. and 5 lb.
bass during 3 days of wild shiner fishing with Captain Ron on
April 25, 26 & 27, 2002. Johnatan caught the 7 lb. and 6 lb'er
and Howard caught the 5 lb'er. All bass were caught in the North
Shore area of Lake Okeechobee.

WILD SHINER BASS FISHING REPORT:
September
1 & 2, 2001
Honeymoon bass fishing couple
Steve and Natalie Krumholtz (Petrolia, Ontario, Canada - ph: 519-882-0388
- e-mail: limey_48@hotline.com) landed a trophy 6 lb. bass during
2 half days of wild shiner bass fishing on September 1 & 2,
2001 with Captain Ron. Natalie caught and released this 6 lb'er,
the biggest bass she or her husband ever caught. This beauty was
caught in the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee.
John and Liana Harress (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada - ph: 905-855-3646)
caught 16 bass up to 4 lbs. during 2 half day sessions (Oct. 9
and 10, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with Rons Guide Service.
This nice catch of bass was caught in the Monkey Box area of Lake
Okeechobee. All bass were live released.
Gordie Keith and son Brian (Palgrave, Ontario, Canada - ph: 519-941-9135
- email: keith@idirect.com) caught 96 bass up to 5 lbs. during
3 days (Oct. 12 - 14, 1998) of artificial lure and wild shiner
fishing with Rons Guide Service. They fished with artificial
lures for 2 days with a total catch of 69 bass that ran up to
3 lbs. Worms, June bug color and chrome rattle traps produced
the best action. This fine catch of bass was caught in the Monkey
Box and North Shore areas of Lake Okeechobee. All the bass were
live released.

10 1/4 lb. Lake Okeechobee trophy
bass caught by Jose Bairos
(Cambridge, Ont., Canada - home ph: 516-621 -8753). Jose also
caught and released a 7 3/4 lb. and a 7 lb. bass
in addition to 59 other Okeechobee bass in the 2-5 lb.
range. Luis Figueiredo (Ayr, Ont. Canada - home ph: 519-632-7403)
who also fished 3 days with Jose had a big bass on that got away.
All bass were caught using shiners and released. Captain Ron was
their bass fishing guide.
