FLORIDA BASS FISHING
REFERENCES FROM: MICHIGANFlorida wild shiner bass fishing anglers (father & son) Craig & Brad Nelson (Parta, MI - ph: 616-887-9535 - e-mail: JNelson@wensco.com) caught and released about 15 bass that included a 6 1/2 lb'er during 2 half days (February 25 & 26, 2001) of Florida wild shiner bass fishing with with Ron's Guide Service. Craig's son Brad caught the 6 1/2 lb'er. Bass were caught in Harney Pond canal area of Lake Okeechobee.
Mike Ashcraft Jr., his dad Mike Sr. (Waterford, MI - ph: 248-673-5253 - e-mail: ashcraftmi@plunkettlaw.com) and 2 other fishermen in 2 guide boats caught about 80 Florida bass between them up to 6 1/4 lbs during 3 days (Apr. 29, 30, May 1, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. They fished the North Shore, Moonshine and Monkey Box areas of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.
Jim Kulha (Livonia, MI - ph: 734-462-2229 - e-mail: Jkool92@aol.com) and Jim Jury (Plymounth, MI - ph: 734-454-7643 - e-mail: Jury@mediaone.net) caught 29 bass that included a 5 1/2, 5 3/4, 6 and a 8 lb'er during 2 days (Mar. 29 and 30, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with Captain Ron. Jim Kulha caught the 8 lb'er which he is having mounted. Jim Jury caught and released the 6 lb'er. Bass where caught in the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee.
