FLORIDA BASS FISHING REFERENCES FROM: NORTH CAROLINA

Florida bass fishing references from the State Of North Carolina. I have put together a Lake Okeechobee bass fishing report of trophy bass caught using shiners by North Carolina residents. Their name, address, home phone number and e-mail address (if they have one) are also included so as to verify the contents and afford prospective clientele the opportunity to get first hand information from folks who have fished with our guide service.

Gary and Connie Barnes (Henderson, TN - ph: 901-989-3745 - e-mail: CTW6998@aol.com) caught and released about 20 bass up to 4 lbs during 1 day (Mar. 21, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Bass where caught in the Monkey Box area of Lake Okeechobee.

The fishing was a little slow and we didn't catch any fish that we could brag
about, (lie about yes). Although a great time was had by my wife and myself.
Ken really tried hard to put us on fish but with a tournament going on and the
weather conditions less than desirable he had his work cut out for him. We
could tell Ken was discouraged some, please let him know we had a great time and he did a fantastic job with what he had to work with. He even taught
Connie how to flip a shiner into the openings in the grass.

Again we had a great time and we'll be back.

Craig, his brother and dad Baisley (Charlotte, NC - ph: 704-365-6881) on their "third fishing trip with us" caught and released 31 bass up to 4 1/2 lbs during 1 day (Mar. 18, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Bass where caught in the North Shore area of Lake Okeechobee.

Ronnie Conard (Canton, NC - ph: 828-648-8062) and Alan Pressley (Clyde, NC - ph: 828-629-0887) caught 80 bass which included a 7 lb’er during 3 days (Jan. 25 - 27, 1999) of wild shiner fishing with Ron’s Guide Service. Alan caught the 7 lb’er. All 80 bass were caught in the North Shore and Moonshine areas of Lake Okeechobee. All the bass were live released.

Emmett Windham (Cary, NC - ph: 919-468-0423) and Wayne Cobb (Apex, NC - ph: 919-362-5555) caught 32 bass using shiners during the 3 days (April 14 - 16, 1998) they fished lake Okeechobee with Ron’s Guide Service. Although the fishing was very slow due to heavy winds that pounded the lake they did manage to land a 7 1/2 and a 6 1/4 lb’er along with about eight bass that ran from 5 - 5 1/2 lbs. Fish were caught in the Iron Stake area of Okeechobee. All the bass were released.

Sam and wife Jenny Davis (Shelby, NC - ph: 704-482-8131) caught 43 bass using shiners during the 3 days (April 10, 11, 12, 1998) they fished with Ron's Guide Service. Jenny who besides catching most of the bass also did land a 8 1/2, 6 3/4 and two 5 lb'ers. All fish were released except the 8 1/2 lb'er which after it is mounted is going on the wall in Sam's den. Lake Okeechobee's North Shore produced these nice fish.

6 1/2 and 6 1/4 lb. Okeechobee bass was caught by Jean Barlow (Salisbury, NC - ph: 704-633-7822). Jean's husband Dean caught a 6 lb'er. They had a total of 37 bass using wild shiners fishing with Captain Ron.

We require 2 persons on our Special Rate.

Required Deposit for 2 persons is $180.00

Third person 2 half day 1 night rate charge is $100.00 additional and includes 2 (four hour) half days of shiner bass fishing, 1 room for 3 persons for 1 night of motel lodging free of charge, 2 dozen extra shiners free of charge, USCG licensed guide, bass boat, fuel and all tackle.
