Florida bass fishing references
from the state of Winconsin. I have put together a Florida bass
fishing report of trophy bass caught using shiners by Winconsin
residents. Their name, address,
home phone number and e-mail address (if they have one) are also included
so as to verify the contents and afford prospective clientele
the opportunity to get first hand information from folks who have

Bass Fishing Report: July 3 & 4, 1999
Dennis, Lisa and 10 year
old son Peter (Mauston, WI - ph: 608-847-4980) caught 11 bass
up to 5 1/4 lbs using shiners during the 2 half days (July 3 &
4, 1999) they fished with Ron's Guide Service. Dennis caught and
released the 5 1/4 lb'er. His wife Lisa had one on in the 8 +

Subject: Trip results
Hi Ron:
Well we're back here in the ice and snow but left with great
memories of our trip with you guys. Did pretty well and John was
great
company not to mention a very knowledgeable fisherman. We fished
a half day
and boated 11 bass (my wife Ann caught 9 of them). While I was
out fished on
the quantity side I did well on the quality. My previous personal
record for
largemouth bass was just over #5. I beat that at the end of the
day by more
than #2. Lost one in that catagory as well.
It was a
perfect way to get over Disney World. Thanks and please give my
best to John. He was terrific!

6 lb Okeechobee
bass. Rick Martin and dad
Al (Mukwonago, WI - ph: 414-363-5284 - e-mail: rmartin@kelch.com)
caught 10 bass up to 6 lbs. during a half day (Mar. 2, 1998) of
wild shiner fishing with Captain Ron. Rick's dad Al caught "all
of the fish" while he missed hooking just as many. All
fish were released.
Tim and Tina Mergen (Platterville,
WI - e-mail: gofishin@mhtc.net) during one day of fishing with
Ron's Guide Service landed about 20 bass including an "8
lb'er" that was released. The North Shore of the produced
the fish.
Guided a father and his 10 year old son for a day (Dec. 23, 1997)
of wild shiner fishing on lake Okeechobee (Mike and son Nick Kropp
- Franklin, WI - home ph: 414-421-9328 - e-mail: klmnkropp@webtv.net).We
managed to put 10 bass in the boat up to 6 lbs. Nick hooked and
landed the 6 lber with a little help from his dad. We fished
the North Shore of the lake around the floating grass islands.
Morning fishing was slow because I could not move around to locate
active fish due to a heavy fog that blanketed the lake all morning.
We however had plenty of action during the afternoon session of
fishing. Mike and Nick released all the fish.
