I went to Florida to see the inlaws and while we were driving we saw a sign for a guide service. Once we got back I searched online and made a booking for my friend and I.
we saw the big hog off in the distance and gave chase in the swamp buggy. it was an intense ride with the throttle open and rough terrain to boot. When we got closer we let out our catch dog and continued the pursuit. Once we got closer I hopped down and stuck mine with a spear but it wasn't that easy. We had a bulldog hound mix named Buck. Buck latched on and tied him up while I tried to stick him. The hog fought off Buck several times, it turned on the guide a couple times also. One stab to the lungs then a second to the heart ended the boar quick. Buck had been gored three times, but was fine after a few minutes of heavy bleeding. Buck still wanted to be in the action. Every time we saw another hog, Buck went ballistic and wanted in, but the guide and I both decided he had enough action for one day.
Now it was my friend Paul's turn to get a boar! We chased one hog into the brush and let our redbone hound PJ, go in after him. Once PJ had him bayed up it was a free for all! The hog was fighting PJ, then the guide called PJ off and my buddy Paul let a round of 00buck into his face and neck! The hog let out a blood curdling squeal and charged Paul! PJ got to the boar first and tied him up again. After a several minute brawl between the boar and PJ, Paul finally got another clear shot and put the boar down. Paul was out of rounds so I moved forward with the spear and handed it to him. Paul ended the hog with a quick stick in the heart.
We ended up getting two nice boars. I got a 185 pounder with a spear and Paul got a 130 pounder with a shotgun.

I took my son and nephew out for our first time hog hunting. We had a good time. We all got a nice hog, my 13 year old speared his hog, my nephew shot his with a 12ga. i used a bow... We will come back to Ron's guide service again. Shot on 2-20-2012.
Thank you very much.

We really enjoyed our hunt! The guide was excellent, and he let me borrow a 12 ga. Remington 1100. Having never hunted wild boar, and never hunted with dogs from a buggy, I was a little concerned that this would be like shooting ducks in a barrel.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
The buggy is very quiet, and only creeps along, so the senses really have to work.
After about 1-1/2 hours, we spotted two hogs running a couple hundred yards off, and we had to give chase. Aaron shot at the big one, but only wounded her in the jaw and she headed for the brush. I took my shot and drilled the smaller one right between the eyes from about 40 yards. We had to quickly head off the big one making for the brush, and Aaron took another shot and skipped one off her head. He quickly took a third shot and dropped her with a good head shot.
It was very exciting.
The big one was 150 lbs, and the smaller one was 100 lbs. I had Mosquito Creek Grocery butcher and freeze the meat and we brought home about 80 lbs. in our checked baggage, which was still frozen even after the long trip back to Seattle.
Thanks for a great hunting experience! I'll be back...

The trip went great. It was a lot of fun riding around in the swamp buggy, learning about the dogs, and sloshing through the swamps. It made for a great experience.
I satisfied my primal urge for at least a few months after spearing this boar.
I plan on doing it again in the future. Hopefully with my sons next time.

My brother enjoyed his bachelor party with Ron's Guide Service. He got a 120 pound hog with his lever action shotgun and I took out a 80 pound hog with my 306. We cooked up some tasty pig the next day.

Had a great time. I still can’t believe what great service you provide. It was great value as well.
Attached a couple pics of my black beauty.
I researched 10-15 guide services in state and out. This was by far the least expensive and turned out to be very good value. My son is on the USS Reagan and will be back home in a couple weeks. I plan to go hunting with him when he gets back using this same service.
I used a Remington 700 30-06 180 grain bullet. Stopped the hog dead in it’s tracks.
Next time I plan to use a 12 ga shotgun with a slugs.
I had the hog sighted in several times before I took my shot.
It was a blast. The hog tasted great too.
