FLORIDA
SPRING TURKEY HUNTING
The
Florida Osceola wild turkey, meleagris gallopavo osceola, was
named after a famous Seminole Indian chief of the early 1800's.
There are to date approximately 75,000 Osceola turkeys that roam
the southern portions of Florida. The Osceola turkey is the smallest
and most challenging species of turkey to hunt. A mature tom turkey
will only weigh 16 - 18 pounds in his peak breeding state.

TURKEY
HUNTING AREA & TERRAIN
Our Florida turkey hunting is
conducted on private land in Glades and Highlands county. The
turkey hunting area consists of several ranches that range in
size of a hundred to several hundred acres which are surrounded
by thousands of acres owned by other property land owners and
the state of Florida. The terrain on our land and the surrounding
land around our land varies from palmetto thickets to oak trees
and other hardwoods. Grass fields, cow pastures, ponds and marsh
areas are scattered throughout the area.

TURKEY
HUNTING METHODS
Our turkey
hunts are fully guided in that a party is one on one with a guide
for all 3 days that the package offers. We guarantee a hunter one
bearded turkey during their 3 day hunting package. In the event
we are unable to bring one bearded turkey into gun range within
3 days a refund in the amount of $500.00 will be refunded to the
hunter. The hunt ends as soon as the very first bearded turkey
is called in, killed or missed by the hunter.
Refunds are
no given if a hunter fails to complete the 3 days of hunting the
package offers or if the hunter has to cancel for some reason.
PLEASE
NOTE that the 1 guaranteed bearded turkey will be and is the very
first one called in that has a beard whatever size it is. A hunter
has "no
choice"
as to pass it up and try for a turkey that has a longer beard!

WEATHER
Winter's general day
temperature is 75 degrees. Nights and mornings are cool to cold.
Late spring and early fall days are in the 80's. Rainfall during
the winter, early spring and late fall is slight. Brief afternoon
showers are common in late spring, throughout the summer and early
fall. Rain gear is a must bring item. If you are hunting during
the winter
months, be sure to
bring some warm clothing with you -- it can get quite cold at
times.
Hopefully bad weather does not interfere with your reserved hunting
trip. We do not offer rain checks for our wild boar hunting. We
have no control over the weather and therefore we cannot be responsible
for the disruption of your trip due to weather. Please bring rain
gear with you. If bad weather moves in the decision to leave is
up to the hunter.
