Ron's Guide Service offers affordable
exciting resident or non-resident alligator hunting on private
land
year-round.
Our
private land alligator hunting is conducted during day light hours.
They are fully guided hunts where you and whomever else in "your
party" (additional hunter or non-hunter) are "one on
one" with your guide. Our hunts are conducted on private
ranches and leased land that consist of wetlands, small lakes,
ponds, canals and marsh which are prime alligator habituate. There
are hundreds of alligators on these ranches and our leased land
from the sizes of 4 feet to 13 feet.

HUNTING
METHOD
The hunting method used is spot and stalk. Your guide will
get you in range for a clean shot as soon as an alligator in the
size range you made reservations for is spotted. Your shot range
can be anywhere from twenty to fifty yards. We hunt chiefly from a swamp
buggy (see below photo). Utility ATV (see below photo), Jeep,
4 wheel drive truck, outboard powered boat or an airboat are used
when conditions require there need. The type of vehicle or vessel
that will be used during your hunt is at the discretion of the
guide.
A
gator the size of the one above and in the photo to the left can
eat a person whole!
HUNTING
HOURS
Our
alligator hunts are done during the daytime from sunrise to sunset.
An alligator hunting
day begins at day break and consists of whatever hours it takes
until your "guaranteed kill" size quota is reached.
NON-HUNTING
GUESTS
We
do permit non-hunting guests to ride along on the hunt. The rate per each non-hunter is $100.00.
Our
non-hunter rate permits
a friend or youngster to tag along to watch, video tape and participate
in the excitement of the hunt.
WEAPONS
Florida
alligators can be hunted with just about any weapon on private
land hunts. An alligator
hunter may use a rifle (any caliber),
black powder (any
caliber), shotgun
(rifled slugs), or a handgun (any caliber).
Our term of any caliber would be a firearm caliber that you would
be able to drop a deer with. Rifles with scopes are by far the
preferred weapon for this type of hunting. Scopes should be sighted
in at a 50 to 75 yard range.
Bow hunting
is permited as noted below.
You can sight
in your gun on our land when you arrive.

NOTE: a firearm will
be furnished free of charge to a alligator hunter who is unable
to bring one with him.
BOW
HUNTING
Bow hunting kills
are permitted with a long bow, compound bow, re-curved bow and
crossbow that must have a minimum draw weight of 35 pounds. You
can use a bow fishing rig attachment. If you use a bow fishing
rig the line should be in the 200 to 300 lb. size class. You can
also use a broad-head arrow without a bow fishing rig attachment.
Using this method the gator would be recovered with a rope and
treble hook.
TAXIDERMIST
Your
guide can handle all questions involving taxidermist service you
may want to have done. Head or a body mount as well as having
the hide tanned cost, charges for shipping the hide and your head
mount based on the taxidermists costs.

areas you will be hunting are pre-scouted by your guide prior
to your hunt. If one hunting area fails to produce the size gator
you reserved we have many more pre-scouted hunting areas in which
to get you your guaranteed alligator.These hunts are for the entire
day and end only after you get your guaranteed alligator. We give
no refunds if a hunter does not want to or can not complete the
entire day of hunting for whatever reason.
RESERVATION
REQUIREMENTS
Best time frame to make reservations
is 2 weeks prior to your hunting date.
Required reservation deposit per each hunter and $100.00 per each
non-hunter as listed above is to be made by
money
order only.
Reservation deposits per each hunter or non-hunter are non-refundable.
No show additional hunter or non-hunter reservation non-refundable
deposit is not deductible from the due upon arrival cash balance.
Reservation date/s are final and can not be rescheduled.
There are no refunds due to poor weather conditions - bring rain
gear and warm clothing.
Balance due is payable upon arrival in Cash
only.
We do not accept credit cards or personal checks on the balance
due.

information you will need for your Alligator Trapping Agent's
License purchase, where to meet, time to meet, things to bring,
etc.
The
total cost of the hunting trip and balance due upon arrival (minus
the deposit) will also be listed to ensure that there are no additional
hidden fees or charges whatsoever!!!
THINGS
TO BRING
Alligator
hunting requires no special type of camo clothing or color pattern.
A hunter should bring extra warm clothing, bug spray, camera,
water canteen, non-alcoholic
drinks, snacks, rain
gear, large zip-loc bags to place your meat in and a large ice
cooler (60 qt. or bigger) to transport your meat in.
Bag ice for icing down your meat can be purchased locally.
QUESTION:
how
much meat will I get from my alligator?
ANSWER:
you will get about
20 to 30 lbs or more from a gator in the size range of 9 to 12
feet. You will get about 10 to 15 lbs or more from a gator in
the size range of 6 to 9 feet. You will get about 5 to 8 lbs or
more from a gator in the size range of 4 to 6 feet. The amount
of meat depends on the size and how fat the gator is.
THINGS
NOT TO BRING
Booze
will not be tolerated.
No alcohol (beer, wine or whiskey) is allowed to be consumed on
our hunts or prior to your hunt.
If you are unable to come sober - please don't come.
You will not hunt and you will forfeit your reservation deposit.

How do I apply
for an Alligator Trapping Agent's License?
Statewide Alligator
Trapping Agent’s License ($50.00, resident and non-resident)
may be purchased at any Florida county tax collector's office
or from any Florida hunting and fishing retail outlet store like
Wal-Mart that sell hunting and fishing licenses. They can be purchased
through the Internet (http://myfwc.com/license/) or by calling
toll-free (1-888-486-8356) from anywhere in the United States
or Canada.
The Alligator Agent’s Trapping License will be issued immediately
to you at any walk-up vendor locations or over the phone.
There is a
24 hour Wal-Mart store in the town of Okeechobee which is 13 miles
from where we hunt that sells the alligator agent's trapping license.
You can purchase your license there on the day you arrive. Have
personal photo ID with you.
