Alligator FAQ

When is the best time to hunt alligator?

When the summer sun’s high and mighty, it’s a good idea to set your sights on mornin’ hunts. Them gators, they like to soak in the sun, and it’s cooler in the mornin’, so they’re more active. And let’s face it, it’s gonna get hotter than a jalapeño by the time the sun climbs higher in the sky.

But when winter rolls around and the chill’s in the air, well, you wanna switch gears. Afternoon hunts are your best bet, ’cause it takes a bit for that sun to warm things up. Mornin’s can be colder than a snowman’s handshake, and them gators, they’re kinda slow to start when it’s frosty out.
